Park Maintenance performed last month was very well attended and another date is Scheduled for Saturday, May 16th. The following announcement regarding the past and future work comes to us from Chino Hills State Park...
The Park received some TLC with the 2009 Earth Day event. Though we anticipated 227 volunteers at the Park, we had over 430 attend! It was the biggest Earth Day event at the Park so far. The November 2008 fire caused extensive damage to the Park's natural resources and Earth Day was spent helping the Park recover. Volunteers focused efforts on three projects: walnut propagation, native plant seed balls, and fence line repair.
Thanks to everyone who made this event a wonderful day. View photos from the event on our website. chino hills park
Trail Maintenance Day - May 16th
Join us on May 16th to improve the Park's trails! The Puente-Chino Hills Task Force of the Sierra Club has partnered with the Interpretive Association and State Parks to offer a trail clean up day. With the spring growth, some of the Park trails get overcome with vegetation, making them hard to navigate. We will also be rebuilding a bridge that burned in the fire. Date: Saturday May 16th Time: 7:30 AM - 12 PM Location: Meet at the Equestrian Staging Area (Chino Hills entrance) Tools will be provided, but please bring your own water and gloves.
